Dear Veterans, donors, and other supportive folks,
We did it!! The first Mission Flexible retreat was a fantastic success! What an amazing four days we had in Burton, TX.
I made a video compilation of our adventures, which you can see here:
We had three service dogs with us this time! The daily meditation, yoga, and writing helped us to connect and process. We loved everything from paintball to art, from the giant swing to spa night. It was such an amazing group of Vets, and the support and camaraderie continues, even though the retreat is over. (I have endless group texts to prove it.)
Testimonials from the Vets
My first MFer retreat went amazing. Got to meet new friends, see some current friends and reignite old friendships. The MFer retreat is something I needed and need more of. Thank you for the opportunity to attend and for giving me something to believe in — myself.
Mission Flexible retreat felt more like a homecoming. To eat, sleep, yoga, and meditate with complete strangers for three days was at first a huge stressor, but now we have lifelong battle buddies. Emotions were high, but so was the level of acceptance.
I’m beyond grateful for the things Lisa and her crew continue to do for both myself and all the veterans she comes into contact with. I can’t wait for the next one!
What’s next?
We are already planning for our summer 2023 retreat in Virginia - the details and the application can be found here. We already have about 50% of the available slots reserved, so apply soon if you’re interested.
We are looking to plan several more retreats next year, so stay tuned!
Stay engaged!
Don’t forget to check out our MFer gear - 100% of the proceeds go to supporting our retreats.
You can follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
Check out our free guided meditations. (Veteran specific: AKA with swearing.)
And of course, we are incredibly grateful for donations as we plan for our upcoming retreats. We are committed to keeping retreats cost-free for Veterans, so we can support them in managing post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, and all the other invisible injuries that were sustained in service.
Thank you so much for the support.
Much love,
~Lisa Jakub and Mission Flexible
